Discovering Crémant

It's no secret that the festive season is fast approaching. And when you say party, you say bubbly! But there's more to life than champagne. Indeed, some people refuse to drink bubbles because they immediately think it's going to be a small budget. Today, Chanzy advises you on how to choose the best crémant to accompany your festive dishes.

First of all, let's go back over the history of crémant, as few people know where it comes from or how it's produced. It can come from several regions of France, including Alsace, Burgundy, Jura, Bordeaux and Savoie.
Crémant is produced in exactly the same way as champagne, with a second fermentation of the bottled wine using a liqueur de tirage (sugar, old wine and various yeasts) to create the effervescence.
The choice of grape varieties includes Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Many producers use their lower-quality grapes to produce Crémant. Others, however, take particular care in selecting the grapes they use to produce a crémant of the highest quality.
But where does the difference with champagne come from? Champagne can only be produced...in the Champagne region. It's a highly controlled appellation, which is why its price can sometimes be very high.
Long considered a"cheap champagne",crémant is now gaining a fine reputation. More and more households are inviting it to their festive tables, and it's often a great success. Like wines, crémants have a wide range of notes, from fresh brioche and lemon to floral aromas. Here are a few good Crémants to accompany your meals.

When it comes to Crémants de Bourgogne, there are many nuggets to be found in the region , including Crémant de Bourgogne Chanzy. The latter is a combination of Aligoté and Chardonnay grapes with fine bubbles. Its lightness will be the perfect accompaniment to your festive dinners, at a reasonable price of 12.75 euros per 75ml.
We also feature Clotilde Davenne's crémant, Domaine Chevrot et Fils ' Les bulles de Paul, and Simonnet - Febvre's Dosage Zéro .
So many choices to ensure you have a great time.
