A recognized appellation.

Our focus today is on the commune of Montagny. Located at the southern tip of the Côte Chalonnaise, it comprises four small villages : Buxy, Montagny-lès-Buxy, Jully-lès-Buxy and Saint-Vallerin. This appellation benefits from good exposure, as it faces east and southeast, with marl and limestone soils that produce exceptional wines, exclusively whites from the Chardonnay grape variety.
To the eye, Montagny doesn't really present any surprises, as it takes the form of a classic Chardonnay: limpid, golden, with a few green reflections and then tending towards buttercup color as it ages.
On the nose, aromas of acacia awaken the senses. These are complemented by hawthorn, honeysuckle, bramble blossom and occasional violets. Hints of lemongrass and gunflint enhance the bouquet .
On the palate, the sweetness of hazelnut and honey meets the sweetness of white peach and pear. This is a wine that stands out for its freshness, character and rich spicy aromas. It's a wine that stands out for its freshness, character and richness of spicy aromas, a rather fine taste that also goes perfectly with a structured structure that lasts over time.
Montagny is a perfect match for well-balanced dishes with strong aromatic intensity , such as veal in white sauce, which is undoubtedly one of its best-suited dishes. The appellation also goes well with seafood, such as steamed or poached shellfish, paellas, and both meat and fish dishes. For cheeses, Montagny sublimates goat's cheese, Beaufort, Saint-Paulin and Emmental, all at a serving temperature of 10 to 12 degrees.
