Vosne-Romanée, a benchmark throughout the world

We're continuing our journey through Burgundy, and more specifically the Côte de Nuits , as we take a look at one of the region's most fascinating wines: Vosne-Romanée .

The Vosne Romanée commune covers a total of 160 hectares, of which 48 hectares are Premier Crus and 27 hectares Grands Crus, divided into six climats: La Grand Rue, La Tâche, Richebourg, La Romanée, La Romanée-Saint-Vivant and the most famous, Romanée-Conti .

Romanée Conti is one of the most expensive wines in the world, sought after by the greatest specialists.

The village has been known for its exceptional wines for almost 1000 years now. The wines produced in the region are made exclusively from Pinot Noir.

Vosne-Romanée is quickly recognizable, even to the untrained eye. It is considered by many to be a near-perfect wine in terms of the balance between substance, length, elegance and structure.

In fact, it boasts a great deal of aromatic complexity of its own. Its aromas oscillate between violets, sometimes spicy red fruits, but also slightly more floral notes that really give it that elegant side. This wine is perfect for aging. Vosne-Romanée is very dark in color. It can be fiery red, garnet or dark purple.

On the palate, the wine is just as pleasant, leaving a velvety sensation.

A wine of character and elegance, but with powerful tannins, that will pair perfectly with strong cuts of meat such as roast poultry or lamb. On the cheese side, you'll have to bet on intense pieces like Saint-Florentin or Cîteaux.

To reap all its benefits, Vosne-Romanée should be enjoyed at a temperature of between 14 and 16 degrees Celsius.
