This is a remarkable limestone terroir, with sufficient marl and clay for the Chardonnay grape variety to have found its ideal home. Les Cailloux is situated on a stony, pebbly hillside. Les Chailles", "Les Chaillots", "Les Chailloux", are Old French words, based on a word of Gaulish origin: *CAL-YO "cailloux". See more
